Ken Hickey joined the State Employment Relations Board (SERB) as a Mediator in October 2011. He facilitates collective bargaining and grievance mediation. He conducts interest-based bargaining, modified-traditional based negotiations, and labor-management committee (LMC) training.

Ken has over 40 years of experience in both the public and private employment sectors. He has represented school boards, transportation authorities, broadcasting organizations, shipping companies worldwide, and various departments of the federal and state governments. He has also represented individuals in employment disputes and discrimination disputes, with mediation occurring in most instances. Ken owned and operated a facilitation company that provided services to the federal government, particularly with regards to government acquisitions and procedures.

Ken earned a B.S. from Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts, with a double major in Accounting and Philosophy, and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
